Starting Out April 11, 2020 – Posted in: Book News

My name is Rachel and I am terribly excited to be starting out on a new phase of my life by becoming the most recent custodian of Bags of Books.  After working as a manager at Waterstones I felt I had reached that point in my career where I wanted more and started looking for opportunities to spread my wings.  I was lucky to come across Anna just at the time when she she and Gavin had started looking for their next challenge.

I moved into 1 South Street on Monday the 9th of March and with assistance from family I managed to open the shop on Friday the 13th (ominous).  One month on and I’m still unpacking but have just about managed to keep my head above water with help from Jo and Nika.  There’s still lots to do and with the current Coronavirus situation things are just that little harder, but we’ll get there.
