On a Magical Do Nothing Day.
A bored child is told not to play on a computer game, and ventures outside reluctantly. Losing the toy, the child discovers wonderful things by just looking and feeling. Ends with a lovely calm moment where mother and child just sit and look at each other.
I’m a big fan of Beatrice Alemagna’s books Beautiful atmospheric illustrations, combination of watercolour and pencil crayons and clever collage , each rereading reveals more details – unusual use of vivid fluorescent spot colour for the anorak, which becomes a character in itself, changing its form to mirror the action
