Ginny’s Big Adventure – new picture book by Matt Carr.

Last week Matt Carr came in to decorate our window with pictures of Ginny’s Big Adventure, his new picture book. Doesn’t it look great?

We were really impressed with his skill at painting the giant guinea pig on the window, doing ‘backwards’ writing, wrangling cut-outs etc, all the while entertaining us with stories of his school visits and festival appearances. They sound hilarious, and exhausting.

Matt is a graphic designer as well as an author and illustrator, and we always have lots of his books in store, in our Funny Books section. You can also find them by searching his name on our website. Among them you will recognise Rhinocorn Rules, Superbat, and the incredibly timely Now Wash Your Hands.

Matt always kindly provides us with stickers to go with his books – and everyone loves a sticker! Remind us when you buy a copy of one of his books.

Ginny isn’t like other guinea pigs. She’s scruffy, messy and just a little bit WILD!

But the guinea pigs at Pat’s Pets love to pamper and preen, brush and buff. They just love to look their best, and Ginny simply doesn’t fit in.

Then one day, Ginny catches a glimpse of what is out there in the wilder world and she sets off on a grand adventure to find her true home.

With a positive message about self-acceptance, join Ginny on her fast-paced adventure with all of its twists and turns as she searches for a place where she can really be herself.

(if you look at Matt’s website, you can read what the original story idea was… )
